GETTING STARTED
What can I expect during a discovery call?
BOOK A DISCOVERY CALLOur discovery calls are relaxed, collaborative conversations designed to learn more about your business, goals, audience, and what you’re hoping to achieve online. Most calls take approximately 15–30 minutes.
We’ll discuss things like:
• Your business needs and services
• Current website or business challenges
• Features or functionality you may need
• Design style and overall vision
• Timeline, goals, and budget expectations
This helps us recommend the best-fit solution for your business and prepare a tailored proposal that aligns with your goals.
What do you need from me to get started?
Once we’ve completed a discovery call and you decide to move forward with a proposal, we’ll guide you through a simple onboarding process to gather everything needed for your project. This typically includes:
• Your company logo and any existing branding guidelines
• Images (such as your business, team, products, or projects)
• Company, service, or product information
• eCommerce policies such as shipping, returns, or warranties (if applicable)
Don’t worry if you don’t have everything prepared yet — we’ll help guide you through what’s needed and can often assist with content direction along the way.

PRICING & PROCESS
How much does a website cost?
Website pricing varies depending on the size, functionality, platform, and complexity of the project. We offer everything from one-page microsites to advanced eCommerce solutions.
Our proposals are tailored to your specific goals and include transparent breakdowns of deliverables and associated costs.
Can you work within my budget?
We always aim to recommend solutions that align with your goals, priorities, and investment level. In some cases, this may mean starting smaller and expanding over time rather than trying to do everything at once.
Do you offer payment plans?
We typically offer two installments for website projects: 50% upon project start, and the remainder after 30 days or upon project completion. For larger projects, we can split payments further if needed.
In addition to e-transfer payments, we also accept credit card.
How do revision rounds work?
Each project includes 1–2 rounds of revisions depending on the scope of the project. During the homepage design reveal, we’ll collaboratively refine the overall look and direction based on your feedback (this stage is not counted as a formal revision round). Once the full website is complete, you’ll have the opportunity to submit a consolidated list of revisions — typically 1 or 2 rounds depending on your package.
This process helps keep projects organized, efficient, and on schedule while still allowing room for thoughtful refinements. If additional revisions or ongoing fine-tuning are needed beyond the included rounds, we’re absolutely happy to continue making adjustments; however, additional revisions would be considered outside the original scope and billed accordingly. Revisions requested after launch are also billable.
WEBSITE DESIGN
What website platforms do you build on?
We primarily build websites on Duda for service-based websites and Shopify for eCommerce stores because they offer the best balance of performance, flexibility, scalability, and ease of use for most businesses.
That said, we understand every business has different needs, existing systems, and comfort levels. We also work with platforms such as Wix, Squarespace, WordPress, and Lightspeed when it makes sense for the project or when clients prefer to stay on their current platform.
Our goal is never to force you into a one-size-fits-all solution — it’s to recommend the platform that best supports your business goals, functionality requirements, budget, and long-term growth. We’ll help guide you toward the best-fit solution during the discovery process.
Can you redesign or improve my existing website?
AUDIT MY WEBSITEYes, we can optimize, redesign, or expand existing websites rather than rebuilding from scratch when appropriate. We’ll help recommend the best direction during the discovery process.

Is a one-page website enough?
For many startups, small businesses, events, or businesses just getting established online, a strategically designed one-page website can be a fantastic starting point.
Our one-page "microsite" option is designed to provide a polished, professional online presence while keeping investment lower and focused on the essentials. These sites still include key information, services, contact forms, galleries, calls-to-action, and strong mobile design.
The best part? Your website can evolve as your business grows. Additional pages, features, eCommerce functionality, booking systems, and marketing tools can all be added later when the time is right — allowing your online presence to grow alongside your business.
Will my website be mobile-friendly?
Absolutely. Every website we create is designed with a mobile-first approach because the majority (over 70%) of website traffic today comes from mobile devices.
How long does a website project take?
Depending on the scope of work and size of your site, this can vary.
On average a 1-page microsite will take 1 week, a 5-10 page website will take between 2-4 weeks, and a more complex 15 page or eCommerce website will require 4-8 weeks to complete. Your estimated timeline will be outlined clearly in your proposal.
If you have a specific deadline to meet, let us know!
Can you integrate calendars, booking systems or external forms?
Yes! We can set up calendars, booking tools, rewards widgets, contact forms (e.g. Jobber), email marketing integrations and more to make your site work exactly how you need it.
Will I be able to sell products later if I’m not ready now?
Absolutely! Websites are always evolving. You can add products or even an entire eCommerce store down the line without starting from scratch.
Will I be able to edit my website myself?
Yes! Our recommended platforms are designed to be user-friendly, allowing you to make basic edits to text, images, blog posts, and more without needing technical experience. You can manage your site from your desktop, tablet, or even your phone.
We provide training, guidance, and support so you feel confident managing your website after launch — without feeling tied to a developer forever.
If you need help with something a bit more complicated, we also offer Website Support services as-needed or on a monthly basis.
BRAND DEVELOPMENT
Why is branding important for my business?
Your brand is often the very first impression people have of your business — and strong branding helps shape how people perceive, remember, and trust you.
A cohesive brand goes far beyond just a logo. It helps create consistency across your website, social media, marketing materials, packaging, signage, and customer experience. Strong branding can help your business:
• Build credibility and trust
• Stand out from competitors
• Create recognition and memorability
• Attract the right audience
• Communicate professionalism and value
• Support long-term marketing efforts
In crowded markets, branding is often the difference between blending in and becoming recognizable.
Can you work with my existing branding?
BOOK A DISCOVERY CALLYes, we can. Not every business needs a full rebrand from scratch. In many cases, we can refine and modernize your existing branding while still maintaining the recognizability your customers already know and trust.
Our Feather Refresh package is designed for businesses that want to polish and elevate their current identity without losing its core foundation. This may include things like:
• Improving logo readability
• Modernizing typography
• Refining spacing and layout
• Updating or simplifying colours
• Creating cleaner variations for digital use
• Improving consistency across materials
For businesses wanting a stronger visual evolution while still retaining elements of their current identity, our Winged Mark package keeps your existing colour palette and/or typography system while developing a brand new logo or symbol concept that feels more strategic, polished, and scalable.
Whether your brand needs a light refresh or a more dramatic glow-up, we’ll help guide you toward the approach that makes the most sense for your business goals, audience, and existing brand recognition.
What do you consider when designing a logo?
We approach logo design strategically — not just aesthetically. Every logo should reflect the personality, audience, and goals of the business it represents.
When designing a logo, we consider things such as:
• Your target audience
• Industry and competitors
• Brand personality and tone
• Scalability and readability
• Colour psychology
• Typography style
• Versatility across print and digital use
• Long-term usability and timelessness
A successful logo should not only look good, but also function well across everything from websites and social media to signage, apparel, and business cards.
How long does it take to design a logo?
Branding timelines vary depending on the scope of the project, revision rounds, and how quickly feedback/content is provided.
As a general guideline:
• Smaller logo refreshes or simplified branding projects may take about 1-2 weeks
• Full branding packages with strategy, multiple concepts, and brand guidelines typically take 4+ weeks
Our process is collaborative and intentionally thoughtful — we don’t rush important foundational work. During your proposal stage, we’ll outline an estimated timeline based on your specific project scope and goals.
Do you design print materials too?
Yes, we do. We create a variety of marketing and print collateral including business cards, tri-fold brochures, flyers, rack cards, signage, packaging, social media graphics, and more.
What are brand guidelines?
Brand guidelines are a reference document that outlines how your branding should be used consistently across all platforms and materials.
Depending on the package selected, brand guidelines may include:
• Logo usage rules and approved variations
• Typography selections
• Colour palette specifications
• Spacing and sizing recommendations
• Brand voice and tone guidance
• Visual style direction
Think of it as a flight manual for your brand — helping ensure everything stays cohesive, professional, and recognizable as your business grows.
Do I need brand guidelines if I’m a small business?
Even smaller businesses benefit greatly from having at least basic brand guidelines. Consistency builds trust and professionalism, and having clear direction makes it much easier when creating websites, social media graphics, print materials, signage, or working with other vendors in the future.
Brand guidelines also help your business maintain a more polished and recognizable appearance as it grows over time.
That said, we understand not every business needs a massive branding document right away. All branding packages include a mini brand guidelines document outlining your logo, colour palette, and typography selections to help keep your branding cohesive from the start. Upgrades to more comprehensive brand guidelines are always available for businesses wanting deeper brand direction and standards.
EMAIL MARKETING
What email marketing platforms do you work with?
We primarily work with Mailchimp because it offers an excellent balance of user-friendliness, automation capabilities, scalability, and integrations for most small to medium-sized businesses. It’s a powerful platform for everything from simple newsletters to advanced automated customer journeys and lead nurturing funnels.
Depending on your website platform, business goals, and existing systems, we can also assist with other email marketing platforms and built-in marketing tools, including (but not limited to) Wix and Constant Contact.
Whether you simply need a polished newsletter template or a fully automated customer journey with lead routing and segmentation, we can help create an email marketing system tailored to your goals.
What kinds of email automations can you create?
BOOK A DISCOVERY CALLEmail automations are one of the most powerful ways to stay connected with customers consistently — without adding more manual work to your plate every day.
We can create strategic automated workflows designed to nurture leads, improve customer retention, encourage repeat purchases, strengthen relationships, and help move customers naturally through your sales funnel behind the scenes.
Some common automations we build include:
• Welcome sequences
• Abandoned cart emails
• Lead nurture funnels
• Review request automations
• Re-engagement campaigns
• Promotional and seasonal campaigns
• Customer onboarding flows
• Follow-up sequences
• Appointment or inquiry follow-ups
• VIP/customer loyalty campaigns
• Newsletter automations
• Segmentation and tagging systems
How is email marketing beneficial?
Email marketing is one of the most effective ways to stay connected with your audience, build long-term customer relationships, and generate repeat business — all while reducing manual follow-up work behind the scenes.
Unlike social media, where algorithms control visibility, email marketing gives you direct access to your audience’s inbox. When paired with automation, it becomes a powerful system that continues working for your business long after setup.
Email automations help further by reducing repetitive manual tasks and creating a more polished and professional customer experience. Instead of manually following up with every lead or customer, your system can automatically send the right message at the right time based on customer actions and behaviour.
For many businesses, this means:
• More repeat business
• Better customer retention
• Higher engagement rates
• Increased conversions
• More consistent communication
• Fewer missed opportunities
• Less day-to-day admin workload
We’ve seen strong real-world ROI from well-structured automated campaigns, especially for businesses that rely on repeat customers, inquiries, bookings, or eCommerce sales. Even simple automation sequences can significantly improve customer follow-up and long-term relationship building when implemented strategically.
Can email marketing integrate with my eCommerce store?
Absolutely. Email marketing platforms can integrate directly with many eCommerce systems including Shopify and Wix.
These integrations allow automations and campaigns to respond to customer behaviour automatically, such as:
• Abandoned carts
• Product purchases
• Repeat customers
• Customer tags/segments
• Product recommendations
• Review requests
This creates a much more personalized customer experience while helping increase retention and repeat sales.
Can I manage the emails myself after setup?
Definitely. We offer flexible options depending on how hands-on you’d like to be.
Some clients prefer having us create branded email templates or a starter package of campaigns and automations that they can easily update and send themselves moving forward. Others prefer ongoing support where we manage everything from strategy and content writing to design, scheduling, automation management, and campaign sending.
We’re happy to work in whatever capacity makes the most sense for your business, workload, and comfort level.
How often should I send email campaigns?
The ideal frequency depends on your business type, audience, and goals — but consistency is usually more important than volume.
For many businesses, sending 1–4 campaigns per month plus automated customer journeys is a strong starting point.
You want to stay visible enough that customers remember you, without overwhelming their inbox. Educational content, promotions, updates, seasonal campaigns, and helpful tips often perform better than constant sales-heavy messaging.
We can help recommend an email marketing strategy and schedule that fits your audience and business goals without feeling spammy or overwhelming.
Do I need a large email list to start?
Not at all. Even small email lists can become powerful marketing tools when paired with strategic automation and consistent branding.
HOSTING & SUPPORT
Is hosting included?
Our recommended platforms are hosted on secure cloud-based servers with fast load times, reliable performance (99.9% up-time), and SSL security — helping keep your website safe, stable, and running smoothly.
Hosting and platform fees are separate monthly or annual costs depending on the platform selected, and these expenses are clearly outlined during the proposal stage so you can make an informed and transparent decision with no surprises later on.
How do I drive traffic to my site after it's built?
We suggest a mix of SEO, email marketing, and social media promotion. Paid ads can also help, depending on your goals and target audience. We’ll guide you on what works best for your business.
We can also direct you to trusted partners who offer expert ad campaign and management support.
How often should I update my website?
To keep your website fresh, it's always a good idea to update your homepage banner every month or more. This can be more frequent or less, depending on your industry. If your website has a portfolio, this is something you should try to keep updated as it happens, or every month when you update your homepage banner.
For SEO and engagement, we recommend fresh content at least every 3–6 months—blog posts, new images, or updates to services keep your site relevant and search-friendly. Yearly SEO maintenance is also recommended for best performance.
Do you offer ongoing website support?
We offer flexible website support services on either an as-needed or monthly basis.
Support may include:
• Content updates
• SEO maintenance
• Design updates
• App/widget integration
• New page development
• Performance monitoring
• Blog updates & content writing
• Troubleshooting & technical support
